About

Step back in time and experience Callands as it might have looked during the 18th century during the annual Callands Fire and Rescue Festival on October 10.

The Colonel George Waller Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will host a special living history experience, "Step Back into 18th Century Callands," bringing the Revolutionary era to life through period clothing, 18th century military demonstrations, historic tents, artifacts, and opportunities to talk with members of the SAR and the Fincastle Company of 18th Century Militia.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the historic Callands Store and Court and the Clerks Office while meeting reenactors and learning about the people, places, and events that shaped the community during the era of the American Revolution.

The event offers a unique opportunity for families and history enthusiasts to experience local history firsthand while learning about Callands' important place in the story of our region and our nation.

The Colonel George Waller Chapter is proud to partner with the Callands community and the Fincastle Company to help preserve and share this history with the public. More than simply looking at history, visitors will have the opportunity to step into it, ask questions, and experience the 18th century for themselves.

The Fincastle Company will also remain at the historic property into Sunday afternoon, providing an additional opportunity for visitors to experience this unique living history presentation.
