About

One of the oldest Black churches in the country will celebrate its 250th Anniversary with the unveiling the African Baptist Meeting House organized in 1776. This structure has been rebuilt on the site of the original church. The original church sits on sacred land where 62 intact burials were discovered under an asphalt parking lot after the 1856 was demolished in 1955.

The dedication ceremony begins at 9:00 AM on October 10.
