As our forefathers gathered in Philadelphia to formally adopt the Declaration of Independence, three brave men were founding what is thought to have been the first Baptist church in Hanover County. The people of this historic congregation will celebrate the milestone birthday by inviting their neighbors to join them for a community picnic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 4.

Planned activities include crafts, music, period games, a petting zoo and a bounce house. The Men’s Ministry will also work the grill to serve up hamburgers and hot dogs for participants.
