Stories from Our Federal Workers: Erin Flynn and Charlie Lord, U.S. Department of Justice

About

As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, Mary Riley Styles Public Library is proud to invite speakers from federal government agencies to share their stories of public service. This month, we are honored to welcome Erin Flynn and Charlie Lord, who will speak about the work performed at "Main Justice," the headquarters components based in Washington, D.C.

The stated mission of the Department of Justice (DOJ) is to uphold the rule of law, to keep our country safe, and to protect civil rights. DOJ is sometimes referred to as the "Nation's Litigator." Its wide variety of civil and criminal litigation is mostly performed by Trial Attorneys at Main Justice or by Assistant United States Attorneys located in federal judicial districts across the country.

Throughout this semiquincentennial year, learn more about the work federal government employees perform -- and why it matters. Come hear from current and former federal workers as they discuss the history and mission of their agencies, along with a description of their own careers and achievements. We are excited to put these often behind-the-scenes federal workers in the spotlight!
